Professional staff

Our collective strength is dependent upon the strength of the individuals involved in every area of our practice. We are an equal opportunity employer, hiring top qualified personnel whose training and development continue throughout their career with Kevane Grant Thornton LLP. We give our people extensive internal and external training, and provide a climate open for consultation and guidance from our most experienced professionals. Each professional staff member must complete at least forty hours of continuing education every year. Career path and industry specializations are reinforced with work assignments and specialized trainings.

The recruiting criteria in our firm establishes that the professional staff have a college degree in Business Administration with specialization in accounting, taxes, or computer sciences, but with enough accounting credits to be able to approve the CPA exam and become a Certified Public Accountant as soon as possible. A formal training program is prepared annually, whereby in-house training seminars are developed, scheduled and held during a specific period of the year covering a wide range of topics such as auditing procedures, specialized by industry or in general, tax matters, computer, and specific software training.

Employees are also encouraged to attend, throughout the year, other outside training seminars provided by the Puerto Rico CPA State Society and other professional associations. The basic AICPA audit assurance trainings for Level I, II, III and IV staff members are mandatory for all audit personnel and are attended, either in Puerto Rico or in the United States, as the employees advance in their careers.
